I have to say that this year so far has been wonderful in the world of bloggers for me. I'm come in contact with some pretty amazing ladies! Social media doesn't have to be all bad news and drama- it's really allowed me to make great connections and new friendships online.
In 2014, I was super unmotivated and uninspired to write as frequently as I have this year. My Twitter account was also hella dry. Any post you saw on my account was syndicated via a feed straight from a bigger website so I rarely tweeted anything. I'm super thankful for Candice- creator of Brown Girl Bloggers.
When she popped up in my email inbox introducing BGB to me, I was all over it! Like her, I struggled to find a consistent stream/home of bloggers who looked like me that I could support- Brown Girls! Since joining the community, I've met some fabulous ladies from so many different walks of life and I love it!! Aside from Candice being such a great inspiration, there are a few girls that stood out most to me. They've all taught me something in one way or another:
1. AMBER-JANAE of WHOISAMBERJANAE.COM
Amber is everything! I love her blog for all the great and super honest things she shares. Her Self-Love Sundays definitely resonate with me because I once use to struggle with self-love until I learned to love myself and stick to it. Amber taught me that regardless of the position I'm in now, good or bad, confidence and a desire to be better than you were yesterday will always be your greatest accessory.
If you didn't know, she's also an author! Check out her work here. You can also stop by her blog and read up on my favorite posts here and here.
2. DREA of THEDREADAILY.COM
Her wit, transparency, honesty, and overall love for big handbags, like myself is what drew me to her! I always enjoy creeping onto her blog and engaging in the conversations she creates within her blogging. One major thing Drea has taught me is that I needed to get my About page life together with the quickness! -lol - I'm ashamed but I had been so deep into my work in other areas that I neglected the most important page of this blog.
I have to give Drea the credit for the inspiration because her About gave me all types of life! Thanks to her, I finally cut the bs and sat my but down in front of my laptop and got my ish right! A couple of my most recent fave posts from her are here and here.
3. ASHLEE of LOVECOMPASSIONATELEE.COM
I can honestly say that lately, I've frequented her blog. She's a great stop for a quick "pick me up" and doses of reality. I can always feel the great vibes and bursts of positive energies whenever I'm reading her posts. Ashlee has taught me to never forget to show gratitude - even for the smallest of things because they matter just as much as waking up to another chance at life. Regardless of your spiritual preference, I feel her blog really shares a wonderful message that we all can appreciate.
My most recent favorites from Lee are here and here. If you haven't already, you should stop now and go check them out.
4. JO ANN of IAMJ0ANN.COM
I feel she's my lifestyle blogging soulmate lol- no, seriously! Her blog resonates so much with me, it's cray! We both have quite a few things in common. Aside from being in love with food, having many talents like modeling, and unique style-we both blog about a gazillion things that seem to be everywhere but not. Jo has taught me that there's absolutely nothing wrong with being a multi-faceted human being. Sometimes being a little bit of everywhere is what makes us special- adventurous!
I admit to stalking her Instagram profile, lol. The girl is maaaad skilled! I love seeing women do exactly what brings out the best in them. My fave posts to date from her are here and here. I love her exotic features, by the way! Gah!
5. RACHEAL of APHRODITEKINKS.COM
If I had to use one word to describe Racheal, I'd use Queen. I gravitated towards her love for travel, wellness, and goddess love. Her blog is a great mix of many things I love and wish to indulge in. The tidbits she shares of her life and her experiences are very inspirational as well. Constant reminders of "we come first" in regards to living our lives to the fullest. Racheal has taught me that in order to really grasp onto the concept of being free, you must first remove yourself from the shackles keeping you where you are.
I would LOVE to travel and reading her stories and seeing her experience various places I only read about, has moved me to go forward in taking the first step to doing just that - leave my cozy space and explore the world. Passport to a new world, here I come. Check out my faves on her blog here and here.

DeleteI know that as bloggers, some of us aim to be sought out by brands and shout out by more established, well-known bloggers, but it means the world to me when my blogging peers are inspired - in any way - by something that I write/do on my blog.
